Aritz Gorrotxategi

Law graduate, he worked as a teacher at the UPV from 2000 to 2002. He was a columnist and worked in many media, written and digital. Diario Vasco (Bai horixe, Leihatila), Berria, Gaztetxulo, Irutxulo, Irutxuloko Hitza… At the same time he made different literary collaborations: Ostiela, Bart, Hegats… He is currently working as a TV scriptwriter (Goenkale, Balbemendi...). His activity is mainly linked to literary criticism and film.

After winning a few small prizes in poetry and narrative competitions, in 2000 he won the novel category of the Ciudad de Irun prize thanks to Kafkaren labankada (La cuchillada de Kafka). In 2001, he won a literary creation grant promoted by the Gipuzkoa Local Government.  Three years later he won the Koldo Mitxelena grant, promoted by the same institution. He has cultivated diverse literary genres. His work includes the poetry books Taxi bat Hamletentzat (A taxi for Hamlet) from 2002 and Zaldi hustuak (Emptied horses) from 2007; the book of short stories Egurra Pinotxori (Firewood for Pinocchio) from 2002 and the novel Kearen truke (In exchange for smoke) from 2005. He has recently participated in the Poesía del pensamiento project in Durango and San Sebastian.
