Itxaro Borda has been writing in Basque ? and sometimes in French ? since 1974. She earned a Master of Advanced Studies in Contemporary History from the University of Pau. In 1987 she began working as a mail carrier in Paris and Maule and now working for the postal service in Bayonne. She writes articles, investigative reports, songs, poetry collections and novels. Her most recent work, Ezer gabe hobe (Better without anything), is a novel published in 2009 by Susa . Itxaro Borda was awarded the 2002 Euskadi Award for her novel % 100 basque.
