Jos� Oliver, son of Andalusian immigrants, is the author of fourteen books. His two most recent books are: Mein andalusisches Schwarzwalddorf (My Andalusian Black Forest people, essays, 2007), and Fahrtenschreiber (Tachograph, poems, 2010), both published by Suhrkamp. Jos� Oliver is one of the most outstanding voices today in contemporary German poetry today. His collections of poems have earned him a number of prestigious awards.
